Tara Dekkers

PhD, LMFT-S

Tara has worked in the field of counseling since 2007 and is licensed as a marriage and family therapist and supervisor in Texas. She loves walking alongside individuals and couples as they pursue freedom from hurts and wounds in order to live in their true identity. Every person has bumps and bruises in life. She believes that trauma can be healed when past hurts are heard and nurtured in a caring environment.

Tara specializes in the treatment of trauma, life transitions, anxiety, depression, PTSD, mood disorders, grief, and relationship concerns. She sees individuals as participants in their own healing but also understands that healing occurs in a supportive and safe environment where each person can examine their cultural/spiritual worldviews, families of origin, and history of traumatic events. She draws on a number of tools to create a treatment plan suited to meet each person’s goals. She has specific training in Lifespan Integration (LI), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and IASIS Microcurrent Neurofeedback (MCN). Tara believes that freedom comes from healing past hurts, examining family history, evaluating current thoughts/behaviors, and creating healthy balance - emotionally, relationally, physically, intellectually, and spiritually.

Priscilla Khademi Kalantari

LMFT-A

Under the supervision of Tara Dekkers,

PhD, LMFT-S

Priscilla is a California transport who moved to Texas two years ago. People often come to her for support, and she is passionate about helping those around her. Counseling felt like a natural path for her to follow.

Priscilla’s experience includes working with people suffering from grief and loss, abuse, trauma recovery, anxiety, depression, as well as helping individuals, couples, and families needing help with rebuilding relationships. As a therapist, her goal is to help others overcome obstacles to their happiness and well-being, and to help couples and families function better as individuals and as a unit. The tools she uses are cognitive behavioral techniques, which teaches clients to change their unhelpful ways of thinking, and to teach coping skills when they find themselves in difficult situations.
